Your ring will undergo a meticulous production journey spanning six to eight weeks, comprising several key stages. Here's an overview of the major steps in the crafting process:
First, your custom design is brought to life with a 3D-printed wax mold. We then coat this wax pattern with a special “investment” material and bake it. Once it’s ready, the wax is melted out, and your chosen precious metal is poured into the mold. After it cools, we remove the investment to reveal a perfect metal cast of your one-of-a-kind design.
The ring is skillfully shaped and polished using a buffing wheel, achieving a brilliant, mirror-like finish. For two-part settings, the top is carefully aligned and securely soldered to the band, with the claws precisely positioned to hold your gemstone perfectly in place.
Step 1: Preparing the Seat
We begin by drilling small holes into the setting to create a secure “seat” for each stone. This ensures side stones and hidden halos fit snugly in place.
Step 2: Forming the Gallery
Next, we use drilling tools to create openings (a “gallery”) behind the stones. This allows more light to pass through, enhancing their brilliance.
Step 3: Securing Accent Stones
Each accent stone is gently pressed into its seat, with tiny metal claws bent snugly over them, one by one, for a secure hold.
Step 4: Setting the Center Stone
Finally, we carefully place and secure the most valuable stone. Given its prominence, this step is especially important for ensuring lasting durability and shine.
At the end, your ring is given a careful, final polish. If it’s crafted from white gold, we add a rhodium plating for extra strength and a brilliant white sheen. Then, we conduct thorough quality checks to ensure it meets our highest standards before heading your way.
